Marriages in the State of Hawaii
· Both male and female must be 18 years of age and single
· Valid photo identification is required for both bride and groom
(a valid driver’s license is adequate identification for U.S citizens
or a passport for non-us citizens)
· Hawaii has no residency requirements or waiting period. Blood
tests are not required
· If you have been divorced six (6) months or less, you ill need
a copy of your divorce decree
· A marriage license from the State of Hawaii is required. There
are several marriage license agents on Maui that will issue your license.
*Please note that most agents are not open on weekends or state and
local holidays.

Other Important Details
· Both parties need to be present at the marriage license application
appointment
· The marriage license is issued at the time of application.
The license is valid for thirty (30) days from date of issue
· The cost of the license is $65.00 and must be paid in cash
to the license agent
· The marriage license is required to be signed by a state licensed
officiant at the ceremony
· A marriage license will be mailed approximately 6-8 weeks after
the ceremony from the State of Hawaii Government Office.
